Despite Everything

(Writer/Director/Actor)

15 minute short film, currently in Post-Production

Despite being offered the role of a lifetime, a semi-successful actor grapples with his deteriorating mental health leading to an unfortunate pill addiction and disdain for his girlfriend.

I wrote this film when I was in a really dark place. When I was writing it I did not have the intention of filming it. When talking to who would become my producer she convinced me to film it. We decided that I would direct it. Since the story was such a personal one I also decided that I would act in it as well. I wanted a film that can dive into the mental toll the film industry can take on a person. That feeling of inadequacy we get as actors and feeling like everyone is out to get you. I wanted the main character to be a difficult one. Someone who is flawed and does not make all the right choices. I want to challenge the audience to feel for a character with many faults and flaws.
